American Airlines To Offer Service Between St. Louis And Springfield, ILL.

FORT WORTH, Texas – American Airlines will add nonstop service between Lambert St. Louis International Airport (STL) and Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport (SPI) in Springfield, Ill., beginning Nov. 4.
AmericanConnection will operate the round-trip service between the two cities, using a 50-seat ERJ-145 jet. Tickets will be available for sale beginning Sunday, Sept. 2.
“These new flights will allow Springfield customers to make easy connections to American, AmericanConnection and American Eagle flights from our St. Louis hub,” said Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, American's Managing Director - St. Louis Hub.
“ Springfield, the State Capital, deserves a reliable and convenient means of getting to and from major transportation hubs like St. Louis," said Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL). "I commend American Airlines for stepping up to fill this need in Springfield. It will make a big difference for those living and doing business in the capital city.”
