January 31, 2007

Competitive Fares, Frequent Flights, A Global Route Network, and Now, Free* Travel Underscore American's Strengths and Its Outstanding Value for Customers

FORT WORTH , Texas – American Airlines today launched “Fly to London, Fly Free*”, a special AAdvantage promotion for premium-class customers flying from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport to London's Heathrow Airport. This offer allows customers who purchase a roundtrip First or Business Class ticket for travel between JFK and Heathrow from Feb. 1 through May 31, 2007, to earn up to three free* coach class trips anywhere American flies in the United States (including Hawaii and Alaska), Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

This promotion underscores American's commitment to our premium business travelers who are being aggressively targeted by niche competitors. American's offer highlights to existing and new New York premium-class customers the substantial customer benefits the world's largest travel awards program provides compared to those with limited routes and flight frequencies.

“We understand that our business customers value our product, competitive fares, frequency and scope of service, and that they like to be rewarded for their loyalty,” said Chuck Imhof, Managing Director of Sales for American Airlines in New York. “They appreciate the choice of being able to fly in Business Class or First Class, where we offer our Flagship Suite. American Airlines has and will continue to offer its New York customers outstanding value.”

American offers the best products and services for business travelers, including competitive fares, the frequency of flights available between the world's two major financial centers of New York and London, its extensive global route network, and its service to Heathrow Airport, London's most convenient airport. In addition, American's Admirals Club lounges on both sides of the Atlantic are available to First and Business Class passengers. American's offer of free* travel underscores the substantial benefits customers earn when traveling on American - benefits that aren't offered by niche competitors with limited service.

“We want to thank our loyal customers and express our appreciation for their business,” said Kurt Stache, President of American's AAdvantage program. “This special offer for New York-to-London premium travelers effectively highlights what has long been one of American's strengths. We serve the world's top business centers with frequent flights, and when it's time for leisure travel, we offer service to the world's leading vacation and resort destinations such as Hawaii, Mexico, and the Caribbean.”

American, a founding member of the global oneworld® Alliance, offers 12 nonstop flights each business day between JFK and Heathrow (six flights each way), each operated with Boeing 777 aircraft, the largest plane in American's fleet. Heathrow is the preferred airport for business travel to London.
