Unit Costs Third Quarter Costs. As we reported, third quarter cost per ASM was 10.88 cents for AMR Consolidated, up 11.5% compared to last year. Our cost per ASM for American Airlines Jet Operations was 10.31 cents, which was up 11.9% compared to last year. As we discussed on the call, absent the impact of our More Room initiative, unit cost would have been up 7.1% of the quarter. Further adjusting for fuel, unit cost increases were 2.8%.
